Online Casino Conditions >>> Solitaire Tips

Online casino skill games, such as solitaire, would not be wise game choices for making real money bets if played in their original forms. In other words, Klondike Solitaire (the most popular form of Solitaire) actually has very low odds of winning (one in thirty hands). However, when played in matches against other players, in which the best score wins, Klondike Solitaire poses a great opportunity for winning money. If played with correct strategy, a player is, in theory, bringing down the online casinos advantage, or rather, the House Edge. Solitaire is a game of both luck and skill, the latter of which can be improved with continued practice.

In some land-based casinos, Las Vegas Solitaire is played as a gambling game. Very similar to Klondike Solitaire, the only difference is that in Las Vegas Solitaire, the player only turns over stock cards one at a time, and is only allowed to go through the stock pile once. The casino will pay for each card successfully used to build the foundations. For instance, it may cost the player $50 to play a game. If the House is paying $5 for each foundation card, in order to break even, the player would need to get ten foundation cards before going through the stock pile one complete time.

Choosing When and Where the Cards are Dealt:

Regarding solitaire strategy, the basis lies in where the player chooses to have their cards dealt in building the foundations. Here is how it works:

  • Play Aces and Two's immediately.

  • Always play or transfer a card to another stack that will free a downcard.

  • If having to make a choice between multiple cards that will free a downcard, always play the one that is in the largest stack of cards.

  • The only time you should transfer cards from column to column is when it will free a downcard.

  • The only time you should clear a spot is if there is a King waiting to fill it in.

  • A King should only be played to complete a foundation when doing so will free up the largest stack of cards and a second King transfer freeing up a downcard is not available.

  • Foundations should only be built (other than Aces and two's) when doing so will not interfere with protecting your next card, when a downcard will be freed, when a column space becomes available that will free a downcard from another pile, or a spot will be cleared for King immediately waiting to fill it.

  • A 5, 6, 7 or 8 should only be played or transferred when dong so will be smooth with the next highest column, it will free a downcard, no other cards have been played to its column (its the second card from the top), there are no other choices to play.

  • The last rule of thumb to remember is to play any cards you possibly can to their Ace foundations when you believe you have exhausted abiding by all of the above mentioned scenarios. A rearrangement of columns may be in order, but will hopefully free up downcards to help complete the necessary sequences.
