Online Casino Conditions >>> Slots Tips >>> How to Peruse and Learn Online Video Slots

These days, no matter whether you are gambling at an online casino or land-based casino, the selection of slot machines can be quite overwhelming. Even for veteran slots players, who grew up playing standard Red White and Blue reel slots, the selection process can be very confusing.

With the introduction of video slots, as well as multi-payline reel slot machines, players are now bombarded with hundreds of different slots under a single roof or internet gaming host. Weeding through slot machines at online casinos is often a much less laborious task than at brick and mortar destinations, considering the convenience of viewing all the available machines on one's computer screen (and not having to get up out of your chair).

Depending on the software platform of the gaming host, the games lobby might vary. Most game lobbies, however, are set up in a way that groups games by being table games, slots, progressives, video pokers, unique games (such as keno) and arcade games (if available). Furthermore, there is usually a section for new games and player favorites (meaning the games you play the most are automatically tagged as a "favorite").

After clicking on the Slots icon, you should be presented with a sub-menu of all the slot machines. Slot games are usually listed in alphabetical order, and are labeled as either being a reel slot machine or video slot. Simply roll the mouse over or click one time on the slot name, and another sub-menu (usually accompanied by a screen shot of the game) will pop up, listing all of the various components and details of the game.

For reel slots, this should include the max number of coins accepted, the coin denomination (very important), number of paylines and reels, if it offers wild symbols and multipliers, if it is progressive and what the max and second highest jackpot awards are. Screen shots for video slots, on the other hand, may or may not show the coin denomination (since video slots usually accept a wide range of denominations), yet they should show how many paylines and reels there are, what the max and second highest jackpot awards are, the maximum number of coins it accepts (this is important when playing a progressive), bonus and gamble features, and if it has wild, multiplier and scatter symbols.

Having these menus available is a convenient help that enables players to select the most appropriate slot game. In our next tip we will go over how to sort through slot machines in land-based casinos.
