Martingale System and Null Bets While we do not promote gambling systems at Online Casino Conditions, we do

It is true that many roulette players successfully use gambling systems.
Even some of our own readers like to use systems to one extent or another.
And while we can say that we have seen gambling systems be the downfall of one
too many gamblers, we can also say that a handful of gamblers have managed to
operate modified systems catered to their own style of gambling. As such,
we present to you the following series of systems used primarily for the game of
roulette. The first system is one of the most widely known - The
Martingale.
Right from the start, the Martingale System has two inherent weaknesses in
it. Considering standard table limits at roulette in the online casinos,
there are approximately only seven or eight loss doublings before one's bet
exceeds the table limit. As a direct result, this brings into light the
second major weakness of the Martingale - the great risk placed on a large
bankroll. So, does this mean that one has to have a very large bankroll to
play the Martingale? Some would say yes. However, if one was to
modify the system by using Null Bets, these inherent dangers in the Martingale
are mitigated.
Before explaining null bets, an explanation on what the Martingale System
entails is in order. Simply put, the Martingale says that a players should
double their bet for every consecutive loss until the bet is won - bringing the
player's bankroll back to where it first started. For instance, if one
were to make $5 bets, after the first losing bet of $5, one would bet $10.
If that bet were to lose as well, the next bet would be for $20. When the
bet wins it will cover all previous losses, putting the player bankroll back to
where it started. As for null bets, they can help to extend a players
lifespan at the roulette table. They are essentially minimum stake bets
that are made on losing numbers. (In a land-based casino, players do not even
need to make a bet - they can simply watch the action) For instance, if
playing online, start off by making minimum stake bets. As soon as you hit
two or three consecutive losses, make the same bets again, but this time using
the Martingale System. Considering you are betting on the most immediate
losers, those particular bets have a greater chance of winning before their
counterpart bets. Use the below two charts to see the difference that null
bets make.
The following chart illustrates what a normal string of losses (under a
$1,000 table max) using the Martingale would look like:

This string of losses will occur 1 out of 170 times. However, by
starting the system by making null bets, ones odds are greatly improved.
The following chart illustrates what a string of losses with three null bets:

In the above string of losses, a total of $655 is put on the line.
However, with the three null bets, a string of eleven losses in a row will only
occur 1 out of 1,165 times. That is considerably better than just playing
the Martingale right from the start. Remember to make the same bets that
your null bets were. For instance, choose a bet and stick with it. A
good one would be to bet either Red, Black, Even or Odd. If you pick Red,
and that bet losses three times in a row, that is when you should start placing
wagers according to the Martingale.
