Pai Gow Poker
Basics at the Online Casino
It may sound absurd to some gamblers, but the idea
to cross Backgammon with Poker, resulting in a poker
game resembling a game of skill more so than chance,
may just be the next big thing at online casinos.
New games are always
being developed, whether or not they are to appease
legalities or create a better way for casinos to win
money from the player. Take for instance, the game
of Pai Gow Poker. Another recent addition to the
gambling repertoire of games, Pai Gow is basically a
cross between the American game of poker with the
Asian domino game.
The way it works is
that players square off against the dealer - much
the same way they do in Blackjack or Baccarat. Using
a deck of fifty-two cards and one joker, each player
is dealt seven cards. The players must then set
their hands in two groups. One group will be set as
a traditional five-card poker hand, while the other
will be set as a two-card hand - preferably a pair
(At this point it is imperative the player sets
their hand as optimized as possible, for if the
two-card hand is not set properly, the player can
forfeit their bet right then and there).
Just like in Baccarat,
the best way for a player to get an advantage over
the casino is to be the dealer, which rotates from
player to player. In order to do so, the player
serving as the dealer may be required to bet enough
money so that all the other player's bets are
covered.
As for the dice, these
are used to determine who gets dealt the first hand.
In short, Pai Gow Poker is a fun game that can be
played with good Pai Gow Strategy to help lower the
House Edge held by the online casino.
