Casino Monorail
Stations on the Las Vegas StripOkay,
it's time to take a break from the online casinos and talk
about getting around in Vegas. If you have ever been to
Las Vegas you should know how bad of a nightmare traffic
can be. With the roads being as busy as they are, you may
want to consider using the monorail as a means of
transportation...and then again, you may not.
The monorail
itself is a very efficient and fast way to cover ground.
Traveling at speeds up to 50 mph, and costing passengers
only $5 and less than fifteen minutes to navigate from end
to end, the Las Vegas monorail can be a very convenient
mode of travel. However, it is not always. Depending on
which casino resort you are staying at, getting to the
monorail station itself can make the difference in whether
the monorail is a faster or slower way of getting up and
down the Strip.
If you are staying at
the Las Vegas Hilton, the monorail station is
literally only a few steps away and is well worth
taking, while the MGM Grand is a good trek to the
MGM Grand Station. If you are doing business in
Vegas and are not necessarily traveling to and from
the Strip casinos, but are spending more time at the
Convention Center itself, the monorail may save you
some time as well. Although taxis can be convenient,
and can save you a few bucks if traveling with a
group of friends going to the same destination, the
traffic on the Strip seems to be getting bogged down
more and more every day.
That being said, take a
break from the online casino and do some research
ahead of time and find out where the nearest
monorail station is to where you are staying. If you
are relatively close to a station, then the monorail
can save you plenty of time and mental frustration.
The monorail stations
are: MGM Grand Station, Flamingo and Caesar's Palace
Station, Las Vegas Hilton Station, Bally's and Paris
Station, Harrah's and Imperial Palace Station,
Sahara Station and the Las Vegas Convention Center
Station. Operating hours are from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday
through Sunday.
