Inherent Advantages of Blackjack

For those of your who are new to online gambling or the game of blackjack, here are a few tips that you should know and that will help you win at the game. (If you like the game, it is advised that you learn the basic blackjack strategy). For although strategy will help you to lower the Casino Advantage, there are actually rules in the game of blackjack that inherently help to lower the Casino Advantage even more.

First, remember that when playing online blackjack, you are paid 3:2 odds when you hit a natural 21, also called a blackjack. The only time you don’t is if the dealer hits blackjack also.

Secondly, you always have an advantage over the dealer, because the dealer cannot make decisions about their hand. They must stand or hit cards according to online casino House Rules (which usually state the dealer must stand on seventeen and hit on sixteen or lower).

Another thing to keep in mind is that you have the option of splitting your initial blackjack hand into two separate hands if you are dealt two cards of the same value. Depending on what these cards are and what the dealer has showing, splitting you hand can lower the Casino Advantage even more.

A fourth option blackjack players have (but which many strategies advise not to do) is taking insurance. If you feel the hunch to do so, you can protect yourself from the dealer hitting a blackjack and taking your bet. Successfully taking insurance can lower the Casino Advantage yet even more.

One last thing players can do (which is strongly advised to use to the greatest capacity) is doubling down. This is the act of doubling one’s initial wager – and can pay off very well when used at the right time.
