More Ways of Winning and Lowering  the Casino Edge at Craps
by Mike Harrison, Strategy and Games Writer

The Casinos Edge can be cut down in a number of ways playing the game of craps. In fact, if played with a diligent strategy and some good luck, the game of craps can deliver the lowest House Edge in the online casino.

In addition to betting in specific denominations and making free odds wagers any chance you can get, there are several other ways to gradually chip away at the House Edge, which combined all together, can make for pretty tempting odds of winning.

Placing a buy bet on the 4 or 10 is a great way to bring the edge down - but only if the House does not take its five percent commission on losing bets. Most online casinos only take this five percent commission on winning buy bets, which on a buy bet of 4 or 10, pays out true odds minus the commission, and brings the Edge down from 4.67% to 1.67%. Make this bet - just be sure to inquire first to confirm the commission is only taken on winning bets.

If you want to lower the House Edge as low as it can possibly go, lay the odds on a Don't Pass or Don't Come bet. Single odds bets on the Don't Pass or Don't Come return a low .68% Edge, five times odds return .23%, ten times odds return .12% and one-hundred times odds return a very low .14% Edge.

The put bet is another great way to bring the odds in your favor even more. Put bets are pass line bets made after the point has been established, which typically is considered an unwise move to make since the pass line bet on come out rolls offers eight ways to win and half as many ways to lose. However, the put bet can be backed with free odds, which means the House Edge can be cut down to 1.52% when made on the 6 or 8.

So remember, a buy bet on the 4 or 10 with a commission only taken on winning bets, laying odds on the Don't Pass or Don't Come bet and put bets on the 6 or 8 with free odds are excellent ways to cut the casino edge at the game of craps.
