Roulette Chips Stacks

A thing to remember about gambling at the roulette table in a brick 'n mortar casino is that roulette chips are different than the standard color-coded casino chips used at other table games.

For roulette, chips are sold in stacks of twenty, which can be obtained by taking a seat at the table and engaging the dealer.  What happens at the roulette table is that players tend to make several different bets on each wheel spin.

As a result, it can be hard keeping track of whose bets are whose.  What the casino does to give the table order (and help the dealer) is give each seated player a different color chip stack. It makes sense, and it works.

As for the stack of twenty, you can get 50 cent chips at certain casinos, which amounts to a minimum buy of $10.  For $5 chips/bets, a minimum of $100 would be needed to take a seat at the roulette table. Keep this in mind before putting your entire bankroll toward regular casino chips.
