Minimum Gambling Stakes Ratio to Bankroll

All gamblers should know how much they can afford to bet before going online or stepping foot into an actual casino.  It is also important to know what stakes you are going to be playing.

For instance, if you want to take a seat at $25 blackjack tables, you should definitely have more than $200 to gamble with, for just a couple of losing double downs or split hands can put your bankroll at jeopardy pretty fast.

A basic rule of thumb is that your stake sizes should be at least one-twentieth of your bankroll.  In other words, if you are planning to put down $5 bets, you should at least have $100 to gamble with.  Of course, this is a general rule and does not apply in all situations.

Depending on your objectives, you may desire to bet more or less, which may lengthen or shorten your gambling session.
