The Best Online Casinos are More Than Their Credentials
by Colby Lewis, Strategy and Games Writer

We recently put an online casino on our casinos blacklist, who contrary to all other associations of what an illegitimately operated gambling site is, appeared to be a respectable and credible place to put down real money stakes. The site is powered by a leading software developer, is licensed and regulated by a credible governmental gaming commission and meets the necessary payout minimums and security specifications for a legitimate online casino.

All things considered, this was a gaming site that deserved to be ranked amongst the top online casinos currently doing business on the Web. In this particular case, however, the site was a relatively new one, and so while not having a bad reputation, did not necessarily have a reputation at all.

Shortly after giving our recommendation of this online casino, their management was found to have discreetly backed out of a business deal without telling the other party. In our opinion, this was a major breach of trust, which if so easily undertaken with their business partners, could very easily be undertaken with their players as well. This brings us to our current tip: Just because a casino has all of the necessary legal credentials to be in operation, does not mean they are a viable place to open an online gaming account with.

Sure, any site that is using top-tier software and is properly licensed and regulated is not going to get away with cheating their players with unfair odds or freezing player accounts for no apparent reason. However, these types of credentials are not going to stop online casino operators from exercising poor customer service or imposing unfair terms and conditions at a later time. Thus, it is important that players look beyond a gaming sites exterior credentials when considering opening a real money gambling account.

It is fine to play at brand new online casinos - Just be sure their management has established a reputation and/or has experience operating other internet gambling sites. Always do your research ahead of time, which should include reading unbiased reviews and even contacting customer support directly to gauge their response time and cordiality.
