Online Poker Strategy
PointersOnline poker,
like its land-based predecessor, requires great strategy
for beating the best poker players. However, unlike
poker in person, the virtual game of poker, which is often
found at the best online casino sites, does not let
players read each others face and body language, which can
be a very telling sign for whether another player is
bluffing or not. On the contrary, online poker
strategy entails paying more attention to the actions that
another player makes at the table.
A good place to
start is in trying to correlate betting patterns to each
player. In other words, does one player consistently
fold on the Turn when another player aggressively raises
on a bluff? Pay attention to other players hands at
the end of the game and you will invariably begin to see
betting patterns that you can use to your advantage in
helping call another players bluff or to use a bluff to
get another player to fold.
Another aspect to pay
attention to when using online poker strategies is how long other players take in making
their moves. What are their hands like when they
take more time? Do they ever play faster at times?
If so, what are their hands like when that occurs?
A
great way to get a good jump on an online poker table is to watch it
from afar before actually joining it. All online
casino poker software will let players watch live poker action
at any table (so long as it is not private) before
joining, which all strategy players should use as an
opportunity to pin other players and figure out a player
specific strategy.
Keeping all this in mind,
remember too that other players will be using online poker
strategies and watching you as
well. As such, try your best to not play too
consistent. Mix things up a bit so that other
players don't get you pegged, and that they don't know you
have them pegged either.
