Differences of
Baccarat and Mini-Baccarat Rules
If you have ever wondered what the difference
between baccarat and mini-baccarat was, wonder no
more, because there is really not much variation
between the two at all. Both games operate
under the same exact rules, except that
mini-Baccarat has a slightly different betting
structure and usually does not allow as high as
stakes as traditional Baccarat does.
To get an idea of how
both games operate (and how they are slightly
different), one needs to be familiar with the rules
of Baccarat. Again, no worries, for baccarat
is one of the easiest casino games to learn and
play. In actuality, slot machines are probably
the only easier game to play in the casino.
A total of eight decks
of cards are used in baccarat, with face cards and
tens counting as zero points, Aces counting as 1
point, and all other cards counting as their numeric
value. The "Player" hand and "Banker" hands
are each dealt two cards, which are then added up.
All values nine and under remain as is, while those
over nine simply get the first number dropped in
calculating the hand value. For instance, a
hand of five and four (suit does not matter) will be
valued at nine, but a hand with a seven and six adds
up to 13, which in Baccarat would be 3 (just drop
the first number). The hand closes to a final
value of 9 wins. All players can bet on either
the Player or Banker hand to win.
In regular Baccarat,
the card shoe rotates from player to player, which
gives players the chance to serve as the Banker
(which is advantageous for the player - yet, they
must have enough money to cover all of the players
hands at the table) In mini-Baccarat, there is
no Banker rotation, for the dealer will always serve
as the Banker. Less money is needed by the
players, and so the stakes are much lower.
That, my friends, is what makes Baccarat and
mini-Baccarat different.
