Three Good Reasons
Why Players Seek Casino Bonuses

When searching for an online casino to open an account with, there are several
things which players should be looking for. While many of these "things" should
be givens, such as a gaming operator's accreditations, reputation and licensing,
players should also be looking for what they want from a gaming host (in terms
of personal preferences).
It is reassuring to know that according to the 2006 eCOGRA Global
Online Gambler Survey, players are indeed looking for what they want, and
not settling for anything less. Statistical findings from the survey show that
the most important things players are seeking from online casinos are related to
finances and security.
Over 76% of surveyed gamblers say they primarily focus
their search on free cash bonuses, over 62% say they also look for a good
variety of casino games, and nearly 57% say they pay attention to accepted
depositing methods and the reputation of each gaming host. Bonuses obviously are
a major factor in choosing a host who, hopefully, has met all the other minimum
qualifications that players should be looking for.
The
eCOGRA Global Online Gambler
Report expanded on these findings and suggests that players' preferences for
bonuses can likely be attributed to three reasons. The first is that bonuses may
improve a player's chances of winnings. Many players argue that making good use
of free cash bonuses can help to turn the Casinos Edge into a Players Advantage.
In other words, instead of playing with a 96% payout rate, some players proclaim
they can push the envelope to beyond 100%, which in reality, is giving them an
advantage over the gaming host.
The second reason is that bonuses help to
prolong time spent gambling. Considering the fact that many players primarily
gamble for entertainment and relaxation, rather than to win money, this
reasoning makes perfect sense.
The third reason why gamblers are primarily
attracted to bonuses is more of an obvious one - It is the anecdotally proven
psychological phenomenon that human being are attracted to "getting something
for nothing". Well, although bonuses are not entirely free, they certainly do
offer extra incentive for choosing one gaming host over another, especially when
two sites are equally rated on all other fronts.
