Online Casino Gambling Forums

Online gambling sites that offer player forums can be a terrific way for players to gather information about certain casinos they may be considering joining.  They can also be very deceiving if one does not know what to look for.  While we at Online Casino Conditions believe player forums to be helpful tools, we also believe that not all forums are the same, and should be consulted with discretion.

Since all forums are open for anyone to join (even underage youths can easily get into a forum), there is a great potential for deceit and bias.  How this comes about is usually in two ways.  The most common is when a representative or affiliate of an online casino joins the forum and encourages other players to gamble at their site.  They will even go so far as to assume player identities and make false claims as to how much money they won, and what a great time they had in the casino.  Some of these people have more tact than others.  For instance, some will make posts that reek of an advertisement, full of exclamation points and flowery language, while others will smoothly drop a line in saying something positive and realistic about their establishment (although it is not necessarily true).

And while the best forums have administrators who can remove and delete these biased posts, there are always some that slip through the cracks.  The important thing is to be sure you get responses from several different players before your even begin to form an opinion about a particular online casino.

The other type of bias often encountered on gambling forums come from disgruntled players who make certain establishments to be bad or non-trustworthy.  This is the other side of the coin, and is something that all players need to be aware of while they are shaping their own opinions on the many online gaming operators currently in business.  There are players out there who are more crooked than the most crooked online casinos.  In fact, they are probably the same people who are running the crooked sites.  The internet allows these type of people to remain undercover and propagate their falsehoods without much chance of being caught.  Some will intentionally abuse bonus offers, get caught by the casino (who then will not pay out their winnings), but will then proceed to bash the casino for not fairly paying them out.  Others will speak bad against another online casino only because they are competitors.

Again, the best way to sort through the bias and truth is to listen to several opinions.  Only when a majority opinion begins to show itself, investigate the claims - whether good or bad - for yourself.  Look to see if whatever is being said can be proven.  For instance, if someone claims a casino has programmed their software to cheat, do some research to see if any established gaming organizations or watchdogs like eCOGRA or The Wizard of Odds, have run tests on the software.  And remember to always go with what your gut tells you.  Online gambling player forums are a good way to compile information that you will ultimately have to validate yourself.
