Group B Picks of
the 2006 World CupIn
Group B of the World Cup, the current favorites are most
definitely the European teams once again, although there
are mixed views on whether England or Sweden will win the
group. The other two teams are Trinidad & Tobago and
Paraguay.
Right now, it looks like the Swedes are
slightly favored, thus making the goal differentials an
important factor, and possibly a deciding factor in
declaring a winner, and possibly facing the favored host
team Germany in the second round.
England opens
against Trinidad and Tobago, which should be an easy win,
although once again, goal totals will probably play a
large factor in the final matchup predicting England and
Sweden to have a showdown. Trinidad & Tobago is most
definitely a long shot, and should be honored to be
playing amongst the best in the world. In this
group, however, it is believed their best chances will be
against Paraguay.
As for the Paraguay/Sweden match,
Paraguay will assuredly put up a great defensive match
against Sweden, but will need an offensive surprise to
score the goals needed to win. Ever since Chilavert
retired from Paraguay's ranks, they have been somewhat lacking in
leadership, which they will most definitely need to combat
the high pressure force of the strong Swede team.
The probable game between England and Sweden will be one
of the most exciting coming out of the first round.ch from
the back, which at the least, is still a good way to
learn the ropes of a game.
