In what some are considering to be the weakest group of the FIFA World Cup this year, the game results shall be interesting, none the less.  Most online gambling sites are giving the best odds on Portugal, and rightly so.  Portugal is a much better team than both Angola and Iran.

As for the fourth candidate in Group D, Mexico, they probably stand the best chances at placing second.  Considering the Mexican team has a great deal more experience on the playing field than both Angola and Iran, it is very likely these teams will not know how to handle an aggressive front from Mexico.

The biggest question arising from this group is who will finish last - Iran or Angola?  As of now, the current betting trend online is heavily pointing to Iran as being the favorite in this match-up.  However, some online bookies are advising on Angola, putting emphasis on the notion that Angola is more motivated than Iran, and will consequently work harder to take home the win.

Although placing third does not make a difference in getting to the finals, both teams will still give all they have.  The only concern with Iran is that they depend a great extent on the goal-making talents of Ali Daei, who just is not at the top of his game anymore.

A loss for Portugal in this round would be a major upset - one which some bettors are assuredly going to try and capitalize on.
