Gambling Tip of the Month: Vacationing in
Macau to Mirror the Las Vegas Experience
So it should be pretty apparent that Macau is
on its way to becoming another Las Vegas. In
terms of serious casino gambling, it certainly
has already become that. However, in terms of
vacationing and tourism, it still has a ways
to go. But don't let that deter you from
taking a trip to Macau. Between the small
handful of current resorts more in tune with
the hospitality side of gaming, such as Wynn
Macau and Sands Macau, and the number of
resorts planned to go up in the coming months
and years ahead, Macau is well on its way of
reaching the same level of five-star
hospitality that Las Vegas is internationally
recognized for. Macau itself has recognized
the fact that much of their gambling industry
is based on the bets, whereas in Vegas, the
casino resorts make a large portion of their
profit on hospitality amenities. Students at
the University of Macau in the casino
management program are now required to spend
two weeks in Las Vegas (in collaboration with
the University of Las Vegas) to get a better
feel of what "gaming hospitality" is truly
about. If you are thinking about taking a long
vacation to Las Vegas - especially if you like
to do so every year or multiple times
throughout the year - you should considering
spending your next stay in Macau. Besides
offering all of the perks that Las Vegas
casinos are so popular for, you will get to
experience a new country, culture and
heritage.
