Online Horse Race Betting Tip - Interstate Horses

Interstate horse betting in the U.S. can be a very lucrative business - especially for those bettors who are keen to the horses and their trainers.  Considering that horse betting is a legal activity in the U.S., and that there are certain allowances within the U.S. Wire Act that permit interstate horse betting via communication devices, the online component of the horse betting industry is a terrific way for bettors to catch early odds and do timely research.

For those who are interested in placing bets on races scheduled at metropolitan tracks (and facilitated through online bookies), there is a strategy that many successful bettors put to use on horses which are racing for the first time within a new state (Many horse trainers will switch states unexpectedly, often winning in their new territory). In order to put the "New State" strategy to good use, bettors suggest certain prerequisites be met.

The first prerequisite is that the horse in question finished within the top four in its last race, or, had been beaten by no more than three lengths.  If the horse finished after fourth place in its last race, the only exception for when it should be considered a good bet in a new state is if the horse was not beaten by more than three lengths in its last two races before its most recent loss.

Another prerequisite is that unless the horse is first up, its last race should have been within the last four weeks since its upcoming race.

The last thing a bettor wants to verify before betting on a horse racing in a new state for the first time, is that there is no more than one other interstate horse doing the same. If so, a bet should only be considered if the new horse has its original rider from the previous state. Those horses who switch states and keep their original riders statistically tend to do better.

Of course, horse racing is still gambling, and so nothing is written in stone.  This strategy is a good guideline to use, which should be used in conjunction with other factors derived from one's own personal research, such as the horse's training background, previous record, rider and overall health. It is suggested that bettors start with low stakes and put the strategy to the test for themselves.
