Exploring the Casinos and Nightlife of Downtown Las Vegas
by Colby Lewis, Strategy and Games Writer  Bookmark with del.icio.us

It's time to take a break from the world of online casinos and talk about Las Vegas...When most people think of Las Vegas, the first thing that often comes to mind is the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip. Understandably, the Strip is the heart of the world's gambling Mecca, and as such, is the most visited place in all of Nevada and Las Vegas.

If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas and are looking to do some casino gambling while you are there (who isn't?), you will not have to look far. Keep in mind though, that some of the gambling destinations on the Strip may be too expensive for some people's blood. What many first-time visitors to Las Vegas do not often realize is there are more places to gamble at than just the Strip resorts, which typically offer higher table stake minimums and lower payback percentages, than say, gambling destinations in nearby downtown Las Vegas.

For the downtown experience, you will certainly need to take a gander down Freemont Street. Similar to the Strip in terms of offering several places to gamble within a general vicinity, Freemont Street is closed to vehicles and is covered by a giant maze of lights. Taking a stroll down Freemont is like going shopping in a very large outdoor mall. There are several large casinos, restaurants and night-life entertainment all around. There is even a free light show that takes place every few hours each night.

Although not as glitzy as the Strip, most people find that Freemont offers more character and charm than the Strip. What all people will definitely agree on is that Freemont offers a more affordable stay in Vegas. $5 blackjack tables, penny slot machines and cheaper hotel rates (which are clean and accommodating) equates to having more money for more entertainment. Perhaps a trip to nearby Hoover Dam or a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon sounds like a fun supplement?

Just remember that you do not have to stay on the Strip to have a fun, entertaining and profitable stay in Las Vegas. Keep checking back here at Online Casino Conditions for more reviews and deals being offered in downtown Las Vegas.
