Following
Intuitive Hunches When Casino Gambling
There are many gamblers who abide by strict playing
strategies, and stick to the rules of the strategy
no matter if they feel otherwise. There are gamblers
who play in just the opposite manner and play their
cards entirely by intuition and blind luck.
Most professional gamblers would agree that the
former of these two betting methods is the more
successful, although blind luck breaks the jackpot
bank every now and then.
What about a playing
strategy that incorporates both methods but still
stays true to a game-specific strategy? Well, not
going so far to say that gamblers should every so
often make a playing decision they are not normally
accustomed to making or act in a way that
intentionally goes against a time-tested game
strategy, players can still incorporate intuitive
hunches, if you will, into their betting sessions.
There have been
occasional times when I am playing a game and
something in my head says to make a certain action,
while at other times I do not hear that voice.
In no way am I claiming to be psychic (although
there is growing scientific evidence pointing to the
validity of psychic intuition), but for the majority
of those occasions in which I hear that voice and do
not follow it, the results show that I should have
acted upon what that voice was telling me.
For instance, on more
than any other occasion, I find myself sometimes
wanting to take insurance when the dealer is showing
an Ace at Blackjack. According to the Basic
Blackjack Strategy, one should never take Insurance;
However, I sometimes feel that I should take
insurance, but do not. More often than not, when I
do hear this voice, the dealer is holding none other
than a Blackjack, and I am exempt from the
protection that Insurance would have given me.
So long as one does not
objectively program that voice to go off every
chance they have to take Insurance, I would say it
is safe to occasionally take it if one has a gut
feeling to do so.
On a similar front,
there are many avid gamblers who say that sometimes
they feel they should not gamble at time when they
normally would be gambling. More often than
not, on these days when they were not as excited
about putting down some real-money bets, their
performance was anything but praiseworthy and would
usually go home with a dent in their bankroll.
Whether this is a repeated coincidence,
self-fulfilling prophecy or true premonition, it is
obviously apparent that staying home on these days
is the safe thing to do.
