What to do With
Advice for Gambling Online
If you play table games, hopefully you incorporate a
strategy into your online gambling sessions. For that
matter, hopefully you incorporate some form of
strategy and money management no matter the type of
games you prefer to play. Although you will
not likely encounter card dealers online (unless you
opt to gamble with Live Dealers, which is offered at
some online gambling sites), the following words of
warning should still apply in a general sense:
Do not trust what a dealer tells you.
Even better, do not
trust what anyone tells you in regards to how you
should bet your money. Some players will be
quick to say they have taken the advice of a dealer
or another player on several occasions, and ended up
making the right decision. While I do not
refute this one bit, and am just as quick to say
they probably gave the right advice, it is still
better to never rely on the advice of others while
in the middle of gambling a hand. Instead, put
the responsibility on yourself to take the time to
learn a specific gambling strategy for the game you
plan to play.
Take blackjack, for
instance. It is widely known amongst
experienced gamblers that blackjack can deliver the
lowest House Edge (sometimes in the players favor)
if played with the universal basic blackjack
strategy. However, you would be surprised how
many blackjack dealers do not even know about the
basic blackjack strategy. Interestingly
enough, many dealers rotate from game to game, and
are trained to know the rules of the games inside
out, and just as important, know how to deal the
cards, exchange chips and conduct the overall
procedures of the game.
There is no requirement
for dealers to know the most popular, time-tested
mathematical strategies in order to be a qualified
dealer of a game. I have witnessed a player
make the correct decision using the Basic Blackjack
Strategy, lose his hand, and then be chided by the
dealer saying he did not make the correct decision.
Well, we all know that no matter how good the
strategy, we win some and we lose some. If
that player didn't know any better, he may just take
the dealer's advice next time regarding his next
move (which the dealer can offer before the player
has acted), and lose his hand. Sure, he may
have won the hand if he took the dealer's advice,
but, it it important to keep in mind that when
playing with a strategy the odds only work in your
favor when you stick to the strategy.
The bottom line is that
you should learn everything you need to learn ahead
of time, thereby taking away the need for you to
listen to anyone's advice. Remember, it's your
money.
