In the sixth and final portion of our comprehensive Craps Glossary, we present
to you seventeen craps terms that bettors will undoubtedly come across in a
brick 'n mortar or online casino:
Rail - This is the grooved depression traveling
around the perimeter of the craps table (at the top),
which holds players' chips.
Right Bettor - A player who bets in favor of the shooter,
that either the come out roll will hit a seven and win, or, the point will be
established and rolled again before sevening out.
Sequence Bet - A bet that may require several dice
rolls before clearing the table, i.e. Pass or Don't Pass
Bets.
Seven Out - This is when the shooter rolls a seven
before rolling the point number (all bets are cleared
from the table).
Shoot
- When the shooter goes on a series of consecutive dice rolls before sevening
out.
Shooter - This is the player who is rolling the dice, which rotates
from player to player at the table; Snake Eyes - Owing to the look, this
is when each die rolls a one.
Stickman - the casino employee at the craps table
who retrieves the dice with a long stick and calls out
the outcomes of the dice rolls.
Take the Odds - When betting with the shooter, this
is when one makes a free odds bet (giving them advantage
over the House).
Ten Times
Odds - Another free odds bet, but only when it is made at ten times the
original be (in order to get maximum payouts).
Triple Odds - Another free odds bet, but for three
times the sum of the initial bet.
True Odds - This is the odds that any number can be
thrown on any roll of the dice.
Vigorish - Also referred to as the Casinos commission, because that is what
it is.
Working - When the next dice roll puts specific bets
on the table at risk of losing.
Whirl Bet - An equally divided bet placed on the
numbers 2,3,7,11 and 12.
Wrong Bettor - Opposite of the Right Bettor, this is
a player who bets against the shooter that they will
either craps out on the come out roll or hit a 7 before
hitting their point for a second time.
Yo
- Also referred to as Yo-eleven, this is what some players and stickmen will
refer to the number 11 so that it isn't mistook for the number 7.
Thus concludes
all of the craps terms that you will come across when playing this highly
entertaining game. Next time you are visiting the online casinos, consider
