>>> Covering
the Numbers on a Hot Shooter Craps strategy can be a tricky thing...although it does not have to be.
While it is true that craps shooters (those rolling the dice) do often go on hot
streaks in which they keep rolling without "sevening out", mathematically
speaking, there is no true merit as to when or if a hot streak is going to happen.
Many
craps players have tell about how they capitalize on hot shooters all the
time. Whether this is pure luck, good craps strategy or a mixture of both is not
necessarily known. What is known is that most good craps players advise to try
and capitalize on hot streaks if they are seen happening. Some players dive right
in and put plenty at risk, while some bettors play it more safe just in case
that hot streak is about to come to an end (which it eventually will).
The best
way to take advantage of hot shooters is "covering the numbers". In other words,
bettors will place come bets on the other numbers of the table, for in keeping
with what a hot streak should be, the hope is that the shooter is going to hit
most of these other numbers before hitting the number seven.
Some bettors do
this more aggressively by placing a new come bet on each roll until every number
is covered. However, this approach can be very risky, and many craps players
advise to use a more moderate approach to covering the numbers. They advise that
in addition to one's original Pass Line bet, a maximum of two come bets should
be made, giving the player a total of three bets working for them at a single
time. When one of the numbers is hit, the player should then make another come
bet. What makes this version safe is that is that if the shooter does indeed
seven out, that come bet will win and the bettor will only lose a single bet
overall.
For those players who are new to online craps, the Pass Line bet is one
of the best bets to make. It is made before the come-out roll (a shooter's first
dice roll). If the come-out roll produces a 7 or 11, the pass line bet wins. If
it hits a 2, 3 or 12, the pass line bet loses. All other numbers will
become the point for that shooter, which they must roll again before rolling a
seven in order to win. If the shooter rolls a seven before rolling their point
again, they are said to "seven out", at which time all prior bets lose.
