FirePay Update
It should be known that FirePay requires player's to
divulge their Social Security Number to receive payment
of funds. While FirePay guarantees this information to
be protected, some players may feel weary about sharing
their SS number and should certainly be in the know
before opening an account. It is our opinion that
FirePay should have alternate means for making identity
checks, which are certainly available. While we consider
FirePay a reputable and trusted payment processor, we
find it relevant to post one players experience below:

When Paradise Poker quit serving the U.S. market
they recommended transferring all funds back to
U.S. players through FirePay. What Paradise Poker
did NOT say was that FirePay would require your
social security number to open an account with
them before they would transfer funds to your bank
account. I made the mistake of having Paradise
Poker transfer funds to FirePay before learning
this. I will not give out my social security to
anyone online. As a result FirePay will not
transfer my funds to my bank nor will they send me
a check without my first giving them my social
security number which I will not do. Why FirePay
requires a social security number I don't know as
other online payment services do not. I have
corresponded by e-mail several times with FirePay
to resolve the problem but to no avail. They will
not send me my funds without first giving them my
social security number. Please warn your readers
not to do business with FirePay if they do not
want to divulge their social security number.
