One of the latest technological developments in the brick 'n mortar casino
gambling industry are the newly introduced remote, handheld gambling devices
that enable users to gamble at casinos without actually having to be physically
present in the casino. Given the green light by Las Vegas legislation and the
Nevada Gambling Commission, only two companies have so far been permitted to
develop and implement the gambling devices.
Diamond I Inc. is one such company,
and has recently unveiled a promotional website through Touch Poker.com that
let's players freely test out a virtual version of Diamond's GS2 wireless casino
gambling device. Diamond I is a leader in providing Wifi, which its wireless GS2
casino is a direct product of. Allowing gamblers to have a go at blackjack, slot
machines, poker, and roulette, the virtual testing models are for entertainment
purposes.
The real devices, however, are programmed with encryption security protocols
(much like that used at online casinos) that will enable gamblers to bet with
real money. Already being tested out at Las Vegas Sands Casino (they are using
the handheld device developed by Cantor Fitzgerald), it still remains to be seen
just how much use the devices will get, and whether that usage is worth the cost
of offering the devices.
As it stands now - according to law - the mobile handhelds are only permitted
to be used within public locations of the casino resort, such as by the swimming
pools, in restaurants and certain areas located in shared public space of the
hotel and casino itself. Regarding the GS2, it is a component of the Diamond I
Wifi Casino system, and is made available in its online form via the Touchdev
Ltd. customizable online gambling platforms, which Diamond I now owns and
operates.
