It seems that more than just dedicated casino
gamblers are helping the Foxwoods Resort and Mohegan Sun Casino thrive in the
New England region of the U.S. According to Mohegan Sun Chief Executive,
Mitchell Etess, it is the tourism industry of Connecticut and the surrounding
states that is helping business thrive the most. And not only is business
thriving, but the casino gambling industry in Connecticut is growing a
foundation that even competition from nearby states such as Rhode Island cannot
shake.
The aforementioned casinos are the regions largest,
and are responsible for drawing tens of thousands of gamblers every day to their
casino floors. It may sound hard to believe, but Connecticut does in fact have a
rather large tourism industry. Being one of the most beautiful states in the
U.S., many outside visitors and residents of relatively nearby states come to
Connecticut's southeast shoreline, not to mention the rural areas dotted with
beautiful, historic homes and scenic pastorals.
Etess still recognizes that it is the loyal
clientele who visit his casino daily that make up the largest portion of
business at Mohegan Sun. What is promising now is that more business is starting
to come from the tourism, which could very easily be attributed to the presence
of these luxurious and classy casinos to begin with. Foxwoods is the largest
casino in the world while Mohegan Sun offers amenities that some Las Vegas Strip
Casinos do not even have.
Offering endless activities, including recreation,
entertainment, shopping and gambling, both of these Connecticut tribal casinos
are excellent examples how well-regulated and managed gambling destinations can
help State and Tribal conditions on several fronts, as Connecticut tourism statistics now prove.
