Budweiser Knows Casino Poker and the World Tour

Poker and beer make a great combination, which Budweiser knows all too well.  The company is sponsoring the World Poker Tour for the third year in a row, giving itself the honors of being called the Official Beer of the tour.  Bud is really going out of its way this year, recognizing the fact that poker has become a legitimate and professional sport loved and watched by millions.  In addition to all the television coverage they can muster, they are also throwing their own quick-elimination Texas Holdem tournament that will buy two seats the the World Poker Tour Invitational later in the year.

Watching sports and drinking beer have grown more synonymous with each other over time.  Especially due to televised football and large beer marketing campaigns, sports and beer go hand in hand.  Keeping with this tradition, Anheuser-Busch is once again sponsoring the World Poker Tour with its popular Budweiser beer, and taking claim to the title of "Official Beer" for the tour's fourth season.  This will mark the third year in row that Budweiser will take the honors and spread its name and image amongst casino poker players.

The WPT, which is being televised by the Travel Channel, has accomplished making Texas Holdem poker an international sport - and is considered to be the spark that started the online poker craze still booming throughout the online gambling community.  Now, Budweiser is hoping to capitalize on this popularity as well.  During the airing of all Poker Tour Tournaments, the company will likewise be airing its own poker related commercials.  Additionally, television viewers will be able to see Budweiser's logo on the poker table ring, as well as on the hole card shooting sequence.
