One way that online casinos try to attract new players is by throwing yearly, monthly, weekly, and sometimes, daily tournaments that award cash and prizes to top placing winners.  Some are better than others - in terms of entry qualifications and awards - while some of the larger, annual tournaments are hard to top.  One of the most common tournament styles is the monthly one, which at the top online casinos, usually awards cash and prizes totalling in the $20,000 to $40,000 range.

The group published a press release describing the success of their August '05 tournament, and the building anticipation for the culmination of September's tournament.  In August, a total of one-hundred and eleven players took home a portion of the online jackpot, ranging from hundreds to thousands.  Many players won $1,000 each, while some pocketed up to $2,500.

English Harbour says the contest will be running each month, until the end of December.  At that time, they will decide if they want to keep running it; And if they do - possibly giving away more cash and prizes.  The one component of this tournament that sets it apart from others is that new players and old can automatically enter it.  All it takes is a deposit in any amount, unlike other casinos, that often require players to gamble a certain amount of their money at specific casino games.  On the first of each remaining month this year, all eligible players will be entered in a raffle drawing, of which, 111 lucky players will win some cash.
