Atlantic City Casinos Beseech Casino Control Commission
Casino Conditions Staff

Atlantic City has been on the up so far this year - and it is largely due to the proactive stance that several casinos have been taking.  Their newest effort has been in drawing up a list of changes the casino operators would like made. Some of these changes require permission by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, while others can be initiated by the casinos themselves.  Legislation is hoping to be submitted before the year is out according to casino lawyers.

Casinos in Atlantic City have submitted a fifty-seven page referendum, or, wish list, if you will, that lists several changes that casino operators would like to see take place in the New Jersey Casino Control Act.  Ranging from concerns regarding playing cards to casino floor security issues, the list is a compilation of changes that would ultimately end up saving the casinos money.

In what could be described as the beginning steps to writing up a legislation proposal, a gambling lawyer estimate the changes would save the casino gambling industry millions in costs every year.  Talk has already begun to introduce legislation by the end of 2005, which could feasibly go into effect in 2006 if the Casino Control Commission cooperates with the requests.

Some of the concerns brought up by a handful of casinos would not require legal approval, and could actually be implemented on their own. The objective now is to reduce the wish list to just a few of the major issues pressing casino operators.  Already, many of the security concerns have been abandoned - most likely out of a lack of urgency, or unfeasibility in getting changes approved by the Casino Control Commission.

Whatever is decided, the New Jersey casinos are looking forward to a remaining prosperous 2005, and an even better 2006.  Atlantice City has been on a upward trend so far this year, which is helping several casino operators who were struggling with overhead and debts in recent times.
