One of the most popular video gaming systems in the world, the X-Box by
Microsoft, can now be used to play in one of the most popular poker tournaments
in the world...well, almost. Not quite the actual World Poker Tour, or even the
World Series of Poker, a new X-Box compatible video poker game called "World
Championship Poker: Featuring Howard Lederer All In" has been shipped for
distribution and will be available soon to X-Boxers around the world, including
the U.S.
Designed to be compatible with the X-Box 360, the game has already been
favorably reviewed, and has many poker fans eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Obviously, the game features the well-known poker champ, Howard Lederer. In
addition, recognizable players like Annie Duke, Robert Williamson III and Marcel
Luske can be found at the tables as well. Although WCP All In does not
incorporate as many poker players as some of the other poker games on the market
(PS2 features nine players, while All In features six), all of the players are
exclusively featured and so cannot be found anywhere else. In other words, if
you want to be Annie Duke at the table, WCP All In is only choice.
WCP All In for the X-Box is the third version of
the software, and is a continuation of innovative one-player poker action
featuring nineteen types of poker (up from fourteen on the previous version),
including Texas Hold'em, Seven-Card Stud and Omaha. The new version has been
expanded to include series tournaments (up to 64 players), reoccurring home
games and mixed games. Accessible through several playing modes, like Scenario
Mode, Multi-Table and Reputation, the software is also compatible with the the
X-Box online entertainment network, which means players will be able to use
voice and text chat, view scoreboards, and even use the EyeToy USB camera for
players who want to bring the art of bluffing to its highest capacity for online
poker.
According to online reviews, the biggest
improvement to WCP's X-Box 360 poker game is in the realm of graphics and
customization, which could very well be setting a newest standard. With sharp
details, lush felt poker tables, very life-like players (due in part to an
innovative shadow-casting system), and a panoramic cinema view, World
Championship Poker: Featuring Howard Lederer All In sounds like it may very well
become a big hit with video gamers and poker enthusiasts.
