Dynasty Gaming Incorporated is most widely known
for bringing online mahjong to the Asian market. Much in the same way that
online gambling software developers have successfully generated large pools of
online casino licensees and gaming networks, Dynasty has been doing an excellent
job making its online mahjong game available to the masses in all of Asia. The
company's latest move has come through its subsidiary company 95Joy, who has
signed an agreement with Technology Limited Co. and pre-paid card distributor,
Junnet Union Science.
According to Dynasty, the deal will allow them to
distribute through several thousand of Junnet's distribution points in China,
pre-paid gaming cards at over 7,200 internet cafes. The scope of the deal is
enormous considering that Junnet is China's leading supplier and distributor of
prepaid cards, with over 20 million Chinese patrons visiting stores where
Junnet's cards can be purchased.
As soon as Dynasty's online mahjong game undergoes
a public testing period in November, as required by the Chinese government, the
software will be initially available on one of the most popular betting sites in
China - MJworldcup.com. After purchasing a prepaid card at any of the 7,200
internet cafes where they will be available, Chinese mahjong players can then
log online at MJworldcup and participate in online tournaments, thus allowing
them to accumulate points which can be redeemed for prizes, and even possibly
winning a seat at the World Cup of Mahjong. Similar to what online poker has
become in the U.S., where the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour host
big-money tournaments at land-based casinos, the World Cup of Mahjong is a big
ordeal.
The system of using prepaid cards is a common one
in China. Considered a legal activity, prepaid cards can be purchased with
credits for playing online sports and casual games at kiosks and internet cafes,
where most buyer's immediately sit down at a computer to begin earning points
that can be later redeemed for a large variety of prizes. Junnet currently
offers a J-Card, which can be reloaded with additional prepaid points and used
to play over thirty different games.
