The world's leading online betting exchange, Betfair, is staying true to their reputation of being a compliant and fair gambling operator. The company announced on Wednesday of this past week they have come to an agreement with the Australasia PGA Tour that they would share an undisclosed amount of betting revenue with the PGA on all betting revenue resulting from Australasia PGA events in New Zealand and Australia. Furthermore, Betfair will be providing access to all their betting records of such events, in order to preserve the integrity of the PGA's golf tournaments.

Betfair would not reveal any more details or figures resulting from the agreement, except that both parties were very pleased with their new relationship. Golf is a very lucrative professional sport, and is rapidly growing in popularity due to the success of several notable Australians on the U.S. PGA Tour cited Betfair Director of Corporate and Business Affairs, Andrew Twait. And so far as other betting operators meeting the needs of professional sports organizations in Australia, there are none other than Betfair. Twait expressed Betfair's committment to making agreements with other Australian sports associations in the near future.

Indeed, Betfair has reached out to many sports organizations throughout the world, and has memorandums of understanding with the U.K. Jockey Club, English Football Association, International Cricket Club, AFL, UEFA and horseracing hosts in the U.S. and South Africa. Befair is also in current talks with several other members of the Coalition of Major Professional Sports, besides the Australasia PGA. COMPS consists of Cricket Australia, National Rugby League, Australian Rugby Union, Lawn Tennis Association of Australia, Football Federation of Australia and PGA Tour of Australasia.

CEO of PGA Tour of Australasia, Ben Sellenger, said he was excited to be working with Betfair, and that the agreement between the two groups reflects the principles which all major Australian sports associations are seeking to standardize with all online and land-based betting operators in Austalia. The integrity component of the deal, which provides PGA Australasia with a transparent audit trail for all bets made on PGA events in Australia and New Zealand, was a very important aspect of the negotiations.
