Online casino and gaming software developer, Playtech, has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer, Mor Weizer, to replace Avigur Zmora, who has been promoted to the Deputy Chairman position. In a company statement, Playtech stated that due to a strategic business shift focusing more on a global market than on the U.S. online gambling industry, the Executive Deputy Chairman position was created for Zmora to lead. Weizer, who has been with the company as a senior operational manager for the last two years, will fill the shoes of Zmora. There is no word on who will fill Weizer's former position.

The new position being headed by Zmora will have the responsibilities of developing business across all regulated jurisdictions and sectors of the online gambling industry. Playtech Chairman, Roger Withers, said that new business generation (in other markets) is essential to the company's continued success as one of the leading online gaming technology developers and online casino licensees.

Playtech's Board agreed that Weizer will do well as CEO. His biggest challenge will be in cementing the partnerships and advances that Zmora implemented in the last few years, including Playtech's entrance into the Chinese gaming industry. Weizer will certainly need to be at the top of his game to manage the company's wide range of clientele relationships. His past experience affords him the skills to do so, not to mention the fact that he is a qualified chartered accountant. His workload with Playtech thus far has been in overseeing online casino licensee relationships, including product management and marketing.

While performing his duties at Playtech, Weizer served as the CEO of Techplay Marketing and managed a large variety of the company's departments - from technical support to product delivery. Before joining Playtech, Weizer was with Oracle gaming for four years as a consultant and product manager. With experience in sales and consulting all throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as well as consulting and auditing experience for Price Waterhouse Coopers (the leading auditor and payout certifier of online casinos), Weizer brings a high level of experience to the role of Playtech Gaming CEO.
