One of the most popular online
casual games, Jewel Quest, has been picked up by leading online casino gaming
software and solutions developer,
Cryptologic. Cryptologic's subsidiary software
company, Wagerlogic, has been granted exclusive rights to develop and market the
first online slot adaptation of Jewel Quest, which has become on of the top
grossing online casual games on sites like Yahoo and AOL and has been downloaded
over 40 million times since first going online in 2004.
Adding Jewel Quest to
their series of online casual game slots, which includes the enormously
successful Bejeweled and Cubis, Cryptologic is making good on their word to
enhance the online gambling environment with more than just virtual counterparts
of traditional casino games and slot machines. In a recent press release
announcing the deal, Cryptologic President and CEO, Javaid Aziz, said that as a
result of offering more gaming enhancements to the players themselves,
Cryptologic's current and future online casino licensees will be enhancing their
business as well.
Jewel Quest is a
classic puzzle matching game originally developed by iWin Inc. Still keeping the
jewel-hunting theme in tact, Wagerlogic says their slot counterpart of the game
is set in ancient Mayan lands and features several slot symbols comprised of
gold coins, adorned skulls, statues, masks, and of course, diamonds and jewels.
In keeping with the original online casual game even further, when specific
artifacts are matched up, the tiles sitting underneath each artifact turn to
gold. When all the tiles have been turned to gold, players have a chance at
winning a bonus prize and then move on to further levels of jewel hunting
action.
Stakes on the Jewel
Quest slot game start at £1 and a max jackpot of 2,000 times the stake can be
won. Cryptologic says the game will be released to online casinos in June of
2007. Cryptologic powered gaming sites do not accept U.S. players, but rather,
focus more on the European gambling industry, specifically
UK Online Casinos.
