Island View Casino
Resort in Gulfport, Mississippi, is pleased to announce they have completed
their latest expansion, which triple's the size of their previous
establishment and gives them bragging rights as one of the largest casino
resorts in the Mississippi Gulf region. With the second phase now unveiled
(doors were opened to the public yesterday), Island View now offers over 2,100
slot machines and forty-seven table games on their expansive 80,000 square
feet casino floor.
Also comprising the
expansion is a new 24-hour restaurant - the C&G Grille, as well as two bars
featuring local bands and other live entertainment. Island View Casino, which
also happens to be a resort destination, covers a total of 520,000 square feet
and offers 562 hotel room accommodations and a 350-seat buffet-style
restaurant - all apart of Island Resort's first phase of expansion finished in
mid-September of last year.
2006 was when things
really started taking off for Island View Casino Resort. The property's
current owners, Terry Green and Rick Carter (both Gulfport natives) bought the
Hurricane Katrina damaged resort in March of 2006. Making a commitment to
revamp the casino and resort to help rebuild the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the
two entrepreneurs were enthusiastically joined by city, local and state
officials, not to mention a supporting community. Over 1,000 employees later,
Terry and Rick's plan for Island View Casino Resort is becoming a reality.
To commemorate the
finished expansion, Gulfport Mayor, Brent Warr, gave a speech at the opening
celebration. Governor Warr said the high quality of the casino has exceeded
all expectations, not to mention the fact that the expansion seamlessly blends
in with original structure. Roy Anderson Corp. of Gulfport and
Friedmutter Group of Las Vegas deserve much of the credit, for they each
respectively helped design and construct the expansion.
