A deal has been struck between the media firm, MC3 Global, and television applications provider, OpenTV, that will provide MC3 Global's Play Platinum TV network with interactive television solutions on a multi-platform, referred to as OpenTV Participate.  As part of a multi-year license agreement, Play Platinum TV (which is scheduled for release within the next four months) will be using the OpenTV Participate system to engage in a variety of real-time programming.

On the agenda for Play Platinum TV is a wide selection of fixed-odds gambling games, which will include keno and virtual horseracing, and potentially skill games, considering the parent company of OpenTV - Liberty Media - recently garnered some controlling share in the skill games technology provider, FUNTech.

Using the OpenTV Participate platform, which allows users to participate in a variety of real-time competitions, polls and gambling games via cell phones, set-top boxes, and the internet, Play Platinum TV will be able to integrate live results with all of its programming features.

As for OpenTV Participate's responsibilities as dictated by the agreement, they will be processing all transactions between viewers and the TV channel, as well as handle all customer service, registration and bonuses/promotions that will come with playing the casino and gambling games like keno.

Using the TV channel as main source of programming, viewers will be permitted to participate via online computers, mobile phones, telephones and SMS.  The broadcast will be in several languages, and will be telecasted in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East among others.
