Atlantic City will be getting a thirteenth casino
located on approximately twenty acres of boardwalk property on the New Jersey
waterfront. The subsidiary casino gambling company for Morgan Stanley, MS
Gaming, confirmed to reporters of the Philadelphia Inquirer that it had
paid approximately $74 million for the land alone, which was owned by a group of
developers and controlled by the Atlantic City Housing Authority.
The land is located in the South inlet area of
Atlantic City, which is on a course of rapid development. The large lot is
located next to the high-rise Bella Condominium and the Showboat Casino, which
appears to be a perfect a choice location for a new casino resort for an
economically booming Atlantic City. Although Morgan Stanley has not applied for
a casino license just yet, it is clear they are seeking out a gambling builder
and operator to get the proposed $1 billion casino on its feet.
A primary suspect that several real estate and
gambling professionals say could very likely get the job is Hard Rock
International Inc., whose other casino properties have proven to do very well
for themselves. And whether or not Hard Rock takes the honors for what will very
likely be a sensational and sprawling casino, it is guaranteed that the casino
will be accompanied by either a condo tower or casino hotel with at least $80
million in resources being put into its construction. A provision was placed
into the land acquisition contract made by North Beach Holdings that required at
least one hospitality site to be built at the aforementioned sum. It may very
well be likely that Hard Rock builds both a casino hotel and condo, considering
how much money they are planning to put into the project.
In response to Donald Trump's three casinos in
Atlantic City - which are now doing much better for themselves - MS Gaming says
they will not be in direct competition and that the newest addition of an
Atlantic City casino will only help to further stimulate a booming gambling
paradise that has never before been doing as well as it has, as proven by the
profit margins reported by Atlantic City casino first quarter earnings for 2006.
