Pompano Park Racino Developed by Isle of Capri Casinos

Online Casino Conditions Staff
May 9, 2006

Isle of Capri Casinos is a name that can be heard often in the land-based casino gambling industry.  With fifteen different casinos spanning across the globe, including several in the Midwest and Mississippi Gulf Coast, Isle of Capri has a large stake in the gambling business and knows a thing or two about operating a casino.

Soon to be added to their growing list of gaming properties will be a newly developed Isle of Capri Racino at Pompano Park Track in South Florida, where recent legislation was passed permitting the use of slot machines.  It may not be a full-fledged casino like Capri is normally accustomed to operating, but it will offer everything else a regular casino does, minus the table games.

When all is said and done, Pompano Park will no longer be the harness race track and poker room which it has steadily been since 1964.  Known as the Winter Capital for harness racing, Pompano Park owes its steady success to the great management of their parent company, Isle of Capri.  And with a giant makeover planned very soon (just as soon as final kinks in the slots legislation are worked out and approved), the continued success of South Florida's popular betting site is imminent.

As for this new racino, it is tentatively planned for completion in seven to nine months, and entails construction that will not interfere with the current racing season.  The exact nature of the upgrade is worth $140 million, and will bring in 1,500 slot machines, a poker room and four different restaurants.  A multi-tiered bar will  serve as the core of the racino, while a modern sports bar and betting area will offer a great view of the racing track.  The track itself will offer grandstand seating and a Winner's Circle.
