Two Las Vegas Casinos Fined by Nevada Gaming Control

When it comes to following the rules in Las Vegas, Clarke County and the Nevada Gaming Control Board does not take violations lightly.  Recently, two casinos - Terrible's Hotel and Casino and Aztec Gold Inn - were both fined for violating gambling laws in two different incidents.

In the case of Terrible's Casino, they agreed to paying a $10,000 fine for allowing a six-year-old girl to participate in a contest drawing for a new car.  Despite the seeming innocence of the a raffle drawing, the fact that the child was allowed in the casino and near gambling tables and slot machines, is in direct violation of state gambling laws that serve to protect minors and prevent underage gambling.

In an unrelated case, Aztec Casino was fined $5,000 for accounting discrepancies, which was not the first time Aztec management was warned about financial irregularities.  Considering the Nevada casino was warned just little over one year ago for discrepancies in their internal accounting procedures, the fact that Aztec Casino general partner, Donald Dombrowski signed a stipulation with an attorney, admitting to accounting errors, such as the $2,000 that was given to a bartender for making unaccounted payouts, the casino was fined by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Both casinos sucked up the punishment and waived their rights to have a public hearing in the presence of the Nevada Gaming Commission, which is scheduled to vote soon on whether the settlements will remain in effect.
