The Microgaming network of online gambling sites is
taking on a new look now that the internet gambling software manufacturer
announced it will be absorbing two very large networks of Microgaming online
casinos and poker sites: Jackpot Madness and The Prima Poker Network.
Jackpot Madness, which directs players to participating online casinos offering
Microgaming progressive jackpot games, will be officially called the Microgaming
Progressive Network, and is scheduled to be entirely phased out by late Summer
'06. The Prima Poker Network will likewise undergo a same overhauling, and
will be known as the Microgaming Poker Network.
Currently, both websites have a
new Microgaming placeholder page informing site visitors of the upcoming change,
and also provide direct links to the websites, which have both been in operation
for several years. Both websites will be integrated into what promises to
be a single, comprehensive Microgaming.com website. The reason for the
change is to simplify future communications so that Microgaming will be branded
even more, and become the name that online players come to know and trust.
Indeed, Microgaming already is a
trusted name, albeit not every online gambler has heard of this powerhouse
software manufacturer and online casino operator. Considering the company
is one of the founding pioneers of online gambling, and is credited with
developing many "firsts" in online casino technology and security, it makes
sense for Microgaming to brand their name and become more ubiquitous in the
online gaming community, especially with new players. The company sees it
a fit time to become popular with people who have never even gambled on the
internet before. As Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever expressed, "...we are
now entering a new stage of growth."
Growth most definitely
characterizes the path that Microgaming is on. With eleven different
progressive jackpot games that have awarded nearly $200 million since 1998,
three-hundred different casino games in eleven languages accepting six
currencies, and sixty more casino games scheduled for release in 2006, it is no
surprise that the Microgaming software platform can be found in 120 online
casinos and 40 online poker rooms.
