A new casino will be going up in South
Africa now that the Aveng Group's Grinaker-LTA Building has been awarded a R733
million building contract for a development project by Gold Reef Resorts.
Considering the casino is scheduled on a fast-track to be completed by November
of this year, Grinaker-LTA Building will not be wasting anytime getting started
on the construction process.
Located near Mogale City, the casino
resort will feature three separate gaming venues (VIP lounge, smoker's floor and
main casino) and will offer all the accommodations a world-class casino resort
in known for. Entertainment facilities, a banquet hall, conference spaces, five
restaurants, food court, arcade and four-star (maybe five-star) resort hotel
with deluxe spa and poolside amenities will all be apart of the package.
As mentioned, the project is being
developed by Gold Reef Resorts, who is a close partner with Akani Leisure
Investments and Akani's subsidiaries. Gold Reef Resorts is also giving an
upgrade to their famed Gold Reef City, which has been doing business at its
permanent site outside of Johannesburg since May of 2000. Offering a theme park
(the exiting Shaft of Terror ride is now open), four-star hotel, restaurants,
sports betting bar, casino and the popular Back of the Moon Jazz bar, Gold Reef
City has become a center of activity for tourists and locals alike.
Without Gold Reef City, Gold Reef
Resorts would certainly not be in the position they are in today. The Silverstar
Casino Resort is being foreseen to enjoy the same level of success as Gold Reef
City, which gaming analysts say is a feasible goal at the hands of Golf Reef
Resorts. At this point in time, there does not appear to be any further bid
commitments to the funding of the South African Apartheid Museum, which Gold
Reef funded the construction of. Celebrating human spirit of adversity, the
museum recounts the dark story of apartheid for the enlightenment and hope of
future generations.
