Gambling enthusiasts may have very well heard that the Asian casino gambling industry, both in the online and offline realms, has been expanding and opening its doors to new development in recent years. Macau certainly comes to mind as a leading casino gambling destination being that it is the largest gaming market in all of Asia. However, many gamblers (especially those in the West) are surprised to hear just how large the casino gambling market has become in the Philippines.

Taking place this week in the Philippines was the GEM Gaming & Entertainment Plus Leisure Expo. Traversing three days (March 21-23), the expo was well attended by leading Asian casino operators and product developers. One such developer was PacificNet Inc., whose subsidiary, PacificNet Games Ltd. (also known as PacGames) issued a press release accounting their positive reception at the expo.

Presenting their latest series of multi-player electronic gaming machines, slot machines, baccarat, roulette and sicbo machines, PacGames had a very active booth that caught the attention of several key figures in the Asian casino gaming industry, including the Philippines largest gaming operator, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). PAGCOR's Chairman, Efraim Genuino said he was very thankful for PacificNet's contributions to the Philippine market, which he says is offering great opportunities to both local and international gaming technology providers.

As the second largest gaming market in Asia, the Philippines is certainly doing its part bringing in tourist from nearby China, Hong Kong and Macau. And speaking of Macua, PacGames was pleased to share their success stories in the booming gaming industry there as well. PacGames' Multi-player machines have been performing very well in Macau as they are specifically designed to cater to the Asian gambler.

PacificNet is now hoping to do the same in the Philippines. Thanks to the GEM Gaming & Entertainment Plus Leisure Expo, PacificNet was able to showcase their products in the Philippines for the first time, and may very well be on their way at getting a foot in the door of this lucrative component of the Asian casino gaming industry.
