With no official word yet on who will be the new
CEO of Party Gaming, there is a growing theory that it could potentially be the
ex-Executive Chairman of Fire One, Mitchell Garber. Fire One is one of the
leading payment processors for a large host of online casinos and internet
gaming websites, and recently flotated on the Alternative Investment Market of
the London Stock Exchange. With impressive results showing end-of-year
profits over $16 million, the news of Garber's resignation was a surprise to
many in the company and the online gambling industry as a whole.
Not as much of a surprise was the resignation of
Richard Segal from Party Gaming, who opted to not make the move to Gibraltar,
where Party Gaming's headquarters are located. Segal - a family man -
understandably did not want to make the drastic change of moving his entire
family to as isolated a place as the island of Gibraltar.
Garber, who after unexpectedly announced his
decision to leave Fire One, made comments to the effect of wanting to pursue
other opportunities in the field of the internet gambling industry. This
is precisely why some believe he has his sights set on the vacant position at
Party Gaming, which seems like a good fit, considering Garber is definitely
qualified to fill it.
Fire One, which provides state-of-the-art
alternative deposit methods for online bettors, has processed countless
transactions through practically all of the most well-known online casinos,
sportsbooks and poker rooms in the online gaming business. They also
provide e-Wallet capabilities through their popular FirePay system.
Commenting on Garber's departure, the new Chief Executive, Benjamin Dalfen, and
non-executive Chairman, Leon Garfinkle, respected Garber's decision, despite
being disappointed to see him leave the company.
