Betting trends are showing for the most bet on
sporting event at these present times. The NCAA men's basketball
tournament is down to a select few teams, after one of the biggest "upset"
weekends in the tournaments history. With only a handful of matchups left
to play out, online sportsbooks are taking thousands of bets on lines that are
settling down.
The biggest favorite right now is Duke, who in
their match with LSU, is looking at being a six point leader on a LSU (+6-105)
vs.Duke line. Coming off of their 74-61 victory over over George
Washington, the powerhouse duo of Williams and Redick will be the one's to stop
if LSU wants to stay in the game. Yet, if LSU's defense plays like they
did against the Aggies Joseph Jones, the game could essentially be a toss up.
The line seems to be settling down after it opened with Duke being a 5.5 point
favorite, then moving up to 7 points and settling back down to 6, where it
currently is.
The game between Gonzoga and the #2 seed UCLA, is
settling in the latter's favor. Right now, UCLA is looking at a 3.5 point
lead, with the majority of bets coming in at 3 points. Gonzaga (+3.5-108)
vs. UCLA is how online sportsbooks are riding the game as of now. The Zags
most definitely have gotten a boost of confidence after their win against
Indiana - even with their star Morrison hitting just fourteen points.
However, they have their work cut out for them having to face one of the
toughest defenses in the league.
Another close game is George Mason (-2-107) vs.
Wichita State. George Mason is on fire right now after holding court in
the biggest upset of the tournament. Beating the Tarheels by five points
and knocking out two of last year's Final Four teams, they are riding on a sharp
high right now. Couple that with the fact they beat Witchita State last
month as 3.5 point underdogs, and you have them as the favorites right now.
Their line opened as a 1 point favorite - but after seeing sharp money from
bettors predicting them to play better being close to home, the line was pushed
to -2-107, where it now stands.
