There is no doubt that
online skill gaming is on the rise. Not necessarily fueled by the explicit
banning of online casinos, internet sportsbooks and poker rooms in the U.S.
(skill gaming still falls within category of illegal online betting), Web gaming
operators have nonetheless been searching for other untapped sectors in the
industry to put their assets into - skill gaming being one of them. The latest
operator to do such a thing is none other than the UK bookie, Stan James, who
has just signed an agreement with industry leading online skill games software
developer and gaming network, GameAccount.
According to the
agreement, SkillAccount will provide its entire suite of online skill games to
the Stan James website. The lineup includes a diverse offering tournament style
and head-to-head skill games, including Backgammon, Gin Rummy,
Solitaire and the
online casino favorites - Multiplayer Blackjack and Three Card Poker. Stan James
will also be networked into SkillAccount's broad database of active players,
hailing from such notable sites like Victor Chandler, Paddy Power,
William Hill
and Sporting Bet.
GameAccount was
certainly the right choice for Stan James. They are the largest and most
networked provider of live, real money skill games and tournaments on the Web,
not to mention properly regulated and licensed. GameAcccount was established in
the United Kingdom back in 2001, and is licensed in the online casino friendly
country of Curacao. They have a player registry spanning over 130 countries.
Another major
development in the online skill gaming sector is the launching of SkillGround.
Offering not quite the same type of skill games one will find at GameAccount,
SkillGround is targeted toward PC gamers (Please see our recent news article
about
SkillGround). Instead of Gin Rummy, players compete with one another in
fast-paced action video games. There are four games to choose from, including
L.A. Street Racer, Kung Fu, Close Quarters and WarPath - all of which allow
players to compete for cash prizes.
