The Macao casino gambling industry continues growing at a phenomenal rate. With the recent plans that Marriott will be opening a 68-room hotel in the planned, mix-use development known as Macao Studio City, it looks as if the Asian gambling paradise is well on its way to becoming the world's next Las Vegas. As part of Phase I for the Macao Studio City complex and Marriot Hotel, which is scheduled for completion in 2009, a 200,000 square foot casino, retail shopping center, 2,300 seat theatre, exhibition center and a film/television production studio are in the works.

Managing Director for Marriott International lodging, Ed Fuller, expressed confidence that Macao Studio City will be a prime location for the Marriott to thrive. Coupling the company's excellent reputation for providing premiere hospitality services with the high-class casino gaming atmosphere in Macao, it certainly is a good bet that Marriott will do well in Macao. Furthermore, the location could not be better. Macao Studio City is plotted on the Cotai Strip, which is the multi-billion dollar, 1.8 mile plot of land in Macau that is destined to become a designated casino resort much like the Las Vegas Strip.

In addition to the lodging amenities, which are practically guaranteed to be sold out in advance, the Marriott at Macau will feature a spa, health center, swimming pool, executive lounge, business center and its own retail shopping center. Drinking bars will be accessible in the lobby lounge, as will as poolside. Marriott will also provide a free shuttle service to and from the Macau International Airport and ferry. A 2,200 square foot grand ballroom, junior ballroom, two boardrooms and six meeting rooms will all be available for rental.

Co-Chief Executives of Macau Studio City, Ambrose Cheung and David Friedman, say they are very pleased to welcome Marriott International to their casino resort complex. Both men cited the Marriott Hotel chain as a top performing, upscale brand that complements the vision of Macau Studio City, which simply is to offer a unique and world-class experience to all of their guests.
