A two-day gambling conference being
organized and hosted by tradeshow producer, Clarion Events/ATE is looking as if
it will be a very informative session about the future of online gambling.
Clarion is currently hyping up the event, which they say will be devoted to
examining the new multi-platform gambling industry. With great emphasis
being put on the online sectors, there will also be discussions on interactive
television, in-flight gambling and the PSP (not sure why, if underage gambling
is a concern to them).
Over twenty notable speakers in
their respective fields have been marked to attend the event on July 4 and 5,
including Richard Swann of Victor Chandler, and Simon Swanson of Wild Jack
Casino. The gentleman will understandably be talking about mobile
gambling, and how other online casino operators can use a successful mobile
strategy to develop the beginnings of an expansive multi-platform. They
will be talking about how back-end management can analyze player usage on a
mobile casino platform, how current mobile technologies can be further
developed, as well as the new online products and enhancements that current
mobile operators can put to use.
In addition to a discussion of the
specific nature's of the technologies beginning to emerge in the mobile sector,
a topic entitled "What is the impact of regulations on emerging technologies?"
will be presented. In what will most likely be a discussion of the
soon-to-be-enacted UK Gambling Act, as well as the most prominent online
gambling regulatory bodies like the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, the objective
is to get operators to thinking with creative optimism, and to use the increased
standards of regulation to their advantage.
Also on the agenda is a
presentation by Poker Zone's Jim Sibcy and NDS's Paul Ranger regarding
interactive television and at-home, real-time betting. NDS has a great
deal of experience in the industry - their most recent exploit being with SKY
Italia satellite television, in which NDS developed an entire infrastructure
enabling television watchers to engage in live betting through two prominent
bookmakers linked to their tellies. Although the interactive sector
appears to be an emerging platform for online casinos and gambling operators,
the technology has been around for a few years, with nothing much to show for.
This will also be addressed in the discussion.
All those in attendance will be
coming together as a single unit to not only collaborate and establish new
partnerships, but to help determine the next step for the online casino gambling
industry as a whole to keep up with evolving technology and new standards of
regulation.
