Apparently, Donald
Trump's trademark "You're Fired", does not carry any weight after the fact. Just
as fast as Trump's former two executives were given the plug from their
high-ranking positions with Trump Entertainment Resorts, the two were picked up
to serve as executives with the St. Louis based casino operator, Isle of Capri
Casinos Inc. Trump Resorts former CEO, James Perry will serve on Isle of Capri's
Board of Directors, while Trump's former Executive VP, Virginia McDowell, will
take over as President and Chief Operating Officer of Isle of Capri.
Apparently, Donald
Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with his casino business, which some
gaming analysts would say is outside of Trump's league to begin with. Rather
than allowing his experienced gaming executives to call the shots, Trump seems
to think that his only profitable option is to sell off his Atlantic City
casinos. Reportedly, Perry was let go because he did not agree to selling the
company. So when Trump's bid to sell his fledgling casinos last month came up
unsuccessful, Perry was given the ringer and accused of spending too much time
with his family in Santa Barbara, California.
Apparently, Trump
cannot conceive the possibility that he just doesn't know how to run a
profitable casino. Or, to give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he is
making a smart business decision, considering the increased competition of the
expanding Pennsylvania casino market. Perhaps Donald Trump should just stick to
real estate and television "reality" shows. However the story goes, the bottom
line is that McDowell and McDonald are obviously highly valued commodities in
the gaming field, having been picked up so quickly.
