Wagering hardware and software systems developer, Scientific Games Racing (previously known as Autotote Systems), has issued a press release announcing a deal made with casino and racetrack operator, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. The contract will see Scientific Games managing pari-mutuel wagering operations and supplying an unspecified number of racing terminals for Great Canadian Gaming Corporation's racetracks located in British Columbia and two newly contracted racetracks in Ontario.

The deal calls for Scientific Games to supply pari-mutuel wagering systems to six racetracks in all - four of which they already contracted do so. The British Columbia tracks include Sandown Park in Sidney, Hastings Racecourse in Vancouver, Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino in Surrey and the Teletheatre Network, while the two newly contracted sites include Flamboro Downs and Georgian Downs - both of which are in Ontario.

Not only does the deal facilitate an expansion of services for Scientific Games Racing, it will serve to put Scientific's Quantum wagering system online for at all six properties. According to Chairman and CEO of Scientific Games, Lorne Weil, the Quantum System is poised to revolutionize the way that bettors and operators interact with one another. Designed with optimum efficiency in mind, Scientific Games' self-servicing wagering terminals have helped racetrack and casino operators cut back on costs and manage their resources more efficiently. Furthermore, all wager pool processing and payout/odds calculations will be handled by Scientific Games.
