Online Poker Room Announces Location of Final Tournament

Online Poker Room, Everest Poker, has announced the final setting of their nine month poker tournament culminating in a $1 million guaranteed jackpot. While some extreme poker players will be disappointed to hear it is not being held on the peak of Mt. Everest, most players will agree that a Mediterranean cruise ship, which is where the final table action will officially be held, makes for the ideal location.

Everest Poker's Property Manager, Jonathan May, said in a press release that tournament scouts have been searching for a special and unique location to award the $1 million jackpot. Nobody can argue that a Mediterranean cruise is anything but fitting for a high-stakes poker tournament. The only question that remains is whether or not James Bond himself will be attending.

With the on-board casino reserved specifically for the tournament, qualifying players are in for a treat. Leaving port from Athens, Greece, the cruise ship will be making stops at famous Mediterranean islands like Mykonos and Rhodes. All ten qualifying players will be allowed to bring at least one guest as well. The final winner is guaranteed at least $200,000, while the guaranteed $1 million will be shared amongst the tournament's top finishers.

Everest is offering several qualifying satellite tournaments at its popular online poker room. There are three different satellite rounds which players are asked to participate in at their own discretion.

Round 1 is geared toward beginnings or lower bankrolls who want to work their way up. The buy-ins are very affordable at only $3+.30 or $11+1. Round 2 online satellites are for players with some more experience under their belts, with a buy-in of $56+5. Round 3 satellites offer the highest stakes, and cater to players with developed bankrolls. The last Round 3 online satellite was on June 30 with a buy-in of $530+30.

The final satellite tournament is the Avalanche Online Final on September 15, 15:00 GMT, with a buy-in of $5,000+30. The last ten player standing will move onto the final table in the Mediterranean.
